I'm usually of the mindset that once you've seen one National Trust house, you've seen them all. Which is the case here for the main house, but not so in the Lichfield Apartment. It's fantastic, lots of photos of the rich & famous who visited Shugborough (Mick Jagger, Britt Ekland, various Royals), his wall planner fir two whole years showing where he was on any particular day is 'must-see' category. Fascinating. We've been coming to Shugborough for years for walks & ice creams but never before had the opportunity to go in to the apartment, so glad I did this weekend!

Fascinating insight into the recent past and the life of someone who moved in celebrity circles. Actually more interesting than the main house.

Excellent unrestricted rooms to explore. Full of original artefacts and memorabilia from the renowned photographer Lord Litchfield. Wall planners showing his photo shoots. Excellent guides are very approachable and knowledgeable. Book timed tickets on arrival at the main entrance. No photography allowed! Shame
